‘A Time Ago When I Was A Big Girl’

As an artist, one of the biggest questions we ask ourselves is who am I?  Who am I as an artist? Who am I as an individual?

I would not be the artist I am today, let alone the person I am today, without my mother. Through this series I wanted to highlight my journey as an artist and an individual through both of our perspectives. ‘A Time Ago When I Was A Big Girl’  takes an intimate look at my transformation from child to adult. These pieces were an effort to search inward for ‘who I am’. Each poem featured was written by my mother.
